A parcel travels on a hinged or tilting carrier surface. At the assigned destination, the surface releases the item so gravity transfers it into the receiving chute or container.
MANZUN uses both “flap sorter” and “tilt-tray sorter” in English material. This page keeps both terms visible because the physical release mechanism and the accepted regional term should be confirmed for each proposal.
System boundary
A sorter is not a standalone mechanism. The following scope must be designed and accepted as one material-flow system.

- A factory acceptance test plan linked to the representative parcel set.
- A commissioning boundary and documented spare-parts strategy for the local partner.
