Tilt-tray

A controlled-discharge option for irregular, soft or mixed-format items.

Tilt-tray parcel sorter with numbered discharge chutes

Use the application, not the headline speed

A sorter is part of a complete material-flow system. Induction, identification, spacing, discharge, accumulation, controls and maintenance access can become the real bottleneck. Treat every published speed as a configuration-dependent reference until the full operating profile is reviewed.

Questions to answer before selection

  1. Which items cannot travel reliably on conventional belts?
  2. What drop height and discharge surface can the goods tolerate?
  3. How will trays be inspected, cleaned and replaced?

Evidence to request from a supplier

  • A parcel-envelope drawing with minimum and maximum dimensions and weights.
  • Sustained throughput assumptions, including induction efficiency and recirculation.
  • Layout drawings showing access, guarding, controls and maintenance clearance.
  • A factory acceptance test plan and a documented spare-parts strategy.
